Oli _BatSeiz : I see, I'll definitely bear it in mind, if the savings are a lot for a gaming pc I might build one and keep this one as just a 'general use' pc. But this won't be until the end of the year earliest, so quite a while away.

[AH] Wambo : You can look at your savings by building as an exponential curve with savings increasing as your better parts increases. You will not be able to save money building an economy computer (sub 1000 or so) but if you are building a gaming computer, youwill save money.
[AH] Wambo : I just tried building an Alienware on Dell with teh same specs as one i built in newegg, and it came out to be about $1000 more and had less stuff (like an air cooled gfx card rather than a water cooled gard on newegg). So yes, you will save a lot of money

Oli _BatSeiz : Hmmm. I'll have to look into it. But really, I know very little about computers, I wouldn't even know what to buy. Hard Drive, Graphics Card, Motherboard and Ram is pretty much all I know. :S

[AH] Wambo : Oli it is actually really simple. The mother board comes with instructions and most everything only fits in one way so you can't mess up. We can walk you through it.
